Recently read this from MetamorphaBlog, titled “Living Beyond the Ribbon of Time”. So true…
Indeed – I had been living in chronos all these times, especially the last few years.
There are moments where we do have to focus on productivity and efficiency. And there are times when we have to hurry. But life is lived best from kairos, not chronos. If we’re not careful chronos can enslave us to a barren busyness that drains us of the passion and wonder of life. Moreover, it deafens our ears to the voice of God who calls to us in kairos moments where heaven and earth intersect.
Life is lived best when we slow down enough to pay attention and enjoy the ordinary kairos moments: things like laughter with friends, a good meal, throwing the best of ourselves into our jobs with passion, catching a great wave on a surfboard, receiving the bread and wine at the communion table, and unhurried time with our spouse.
Life is lived best when we make it an art. Life is lived best when we ignore the busyness, the push and pull of life, and we stop to enjoy the present. Life is at its best when we live beyond the ribbon of time and the tick, tick, tick of the clock.

Can I give you a hug?

Just finished reading “My Heart – Christ’s Home”. A little gift booklet a friend gave to me recently. Loved it. The author describes how we can let Jesus enter into our heart – similar to inviting a guest into our home, one room at a time. I was really touched by the following passage; as I’m learning about having quiet time and experiencing Him in solitude.
As He speaks to us…
The trouble is that you have been thinking of the quiet time, of Bible study and prayer, as a means for your own spiritual growth. That is true, but you have forgotten that this time means something to me also. Remember, I love you. At the great cost I have redeemed you. I value your fellowship. Just to have you look up into my face warms my heart. Don’t neglect this hour, if only for my sake. Whether or not you want to be with me, remember I want to be with you.
It’s not about us…it’s more about Him.

Philippians 4:7

Life is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you gonna get.
Life is like a box of jigsaw puzzle too. Sometimes you feel puzzled.
We might not know why a particular piece is shaped in a certain way. We might think all the pieces are out of order. We might even think there is an extra piece here or there, which you couldn’t fit it in anywhere. We tried hard making sense of all the broken pieces; often times feeling frustrated putting them all together.
Just believe, and have trust in Him. At the end, all the pieces will fit together. Perfectly. And it will be beautiful.
You will be awed with the beauty, when all the pieces fit together. There will not be one extra piece. Because it is perfectly created. It is perfectly designed.
I believe that everything happens for a reason.
